  • Overview - External

    The Engineering Assistants' (EA) main responsibility is to assist Field Engineers (FEs) in maximizing their time with our clients. They organize and schedule field engineering visits, monitor to ensure completion of all risk evaluations, maintain statistics and performance measurements, research and log plans that are received, follow up with clients regarding risk improvement efforts. The EA is a liaison between the office and field staff.


    EAs interact with clients and brokers on a daily basis. In many cases, they are the first contact local site managers have with FM Global. EAs require strong customer service skills, project management experience/skills and must be able to articulate when discussing engineering evaluations with clients.


    EAs are used in the field operations to support engineering teams, work assignment, plan review, jurisdictional and office engineering functions. Their efforts directly contribute to the execution of the Operations' engineering objectives.


    Responsibilities - External

    Main Activities:

    • Organizes and schedules field engineering visits by overseeing FEs' assigned work and calendars; communicates with FM Global clients and coordinates visit times; prepares and distributes agenda letter; works with Work Assignment (WA), Client Processing Associates (CPA) and Account Engineers (AE) to resolve problems with visiting a client's site. Ensures visit timeliness by following up on open orders, researching the status and communicating updates to the Group Manager Field Engineering (GMFE).
    • Supports risk improvement efforts by following up with clients regarding the status of recommendations. Communicates updates to FE and AE; provides Group Manager Field Engineering (GMFE) with risk improvement statistics
    • Establishes working partnerships with external clients, FEs, Group Managers Field Engineering (GMFEs), the Client Service Team and Work Assignment. Supports Manager, Operations Engineering & Training (MOET) functions which include Plan Review, Report Review, Customer Service and the distribution of associated correspondence


    Qualifications - External


    • College degree, preferably in Business Administration, Logistics or Project Management
    • Minimum 03 years of administrative experience supporting a work group and or a manager
    • Excellent communication and human relation skills
    • Organization and prioritization skills
    • Excellent computing skills especially MS Office Suite programs
    • Customer oriented
    • Minimum Advanced level English Skills. Portuguese is a plus.
